“Beacon system for blind people, based on Bluetooth Technology” 

Abstract of System:

 The GTEBIM group has developed a wireless beacon system that automatically transmits useful information based on Bluetooth technology. The wireless signal is converted to ‘natural language’  information, visual or acoustic, in the receiver device. 

The system is particularly useful for blind people and elderly people.

In addition it is also useful in industrial environments, nuclear facilities, airports, etc. The research group is looking for companies to develop commercial agreements.

 - Aid to the integration of blind people in working areas, airports, shopping centres, federal buildings, theatres, etc.

 - Low manufacturing costs, due to the high level of integration and the use of standard components. Low installation and maintenance cost. No mobile pieces or devices.

 - Low final price.

 - High-reliability system.

 - Full compatibility with all Bluetooth systems like phones, laptops, or PDA devices. This feature provides the capability to adapt this type of system to receive the beacon signal.


Sistema de Control de Flotas

Sistema para el control y localización de flotas utilizando GPS para el envío de las coordenadas de manera dinámica mediante GSM/GPRS y Wifi. Este proyecto se está realizando en colaboración con el inta. Actualmente, se está realizando un prototitpo en desarrollo utilizando sistemas embebidos y FPGAs.
